handle (8). Close (b) the lock (F).
b) Shifting the additional handle (a) Open the lock
(F) and slide the additional handle (8) into the re-

5.6 Extending the telescopic tube
•
Open the safety guard (Fig. 12/Item 1)
•
Note the position of the guide groove (Fig. 12/
Item R) and insert the telescopic tube exten-
sion (14) into the mount.
•
To lock the telescopic tube extension, turn it
clockwise through 90° until you hear a „click“
(Fig. 13).
•
To remove the telescopic tube extension, turn
the lock wheel (Fig. 14/Item S) to the rear
while simultaneously turning the telescopic
extension counter-clockwise through 90° (Fig.
14). Close the mount with the safety guard.
Note:
Use the telescopic tube extension only in
combination with the hip strap (Fig. 1/Item 15, see
section 6.2).
6. Operation
6.1 Using the shoulder strap
Important! Always use the shoulder strap when
working with the equipment. Switch o
ff
the
equipment before you take o
ff
the shoulder strap
(Otherwise there is a risk of injury.)
1. Hook the carabiner (Fig. 15/Item T) into the
strap attachment.
2. Slip the shoulder strap over your shoulder.
3. Adjust the length of the shoulder strap so that
the strap attachment is at waist level.
Note:
The shoulder strap is equipped with a safety re-
lease (Fig. 15/Item U) with which you can quickly
detach the shoulder strap from the machine, e.g.
in case of danger. To operate the safety release
(U), pull it downwards.
6.2 Using the waist strap (Fig. 16)
To use the telescopic tube extension safely you
need the waist strap with
fi
tting. Place the waist
strap around your hips and adjust it so that it is
fi
rmly seated. You can rest the telescopic tube
extension in the
fi
tting.
6.3 Setting the telescopic tube (Fig. 17)
1. Open (a) the telescopic tube lock (7).
2. Pull out the top telescopic tube until it reaches
the required working height.
3. Close (b) the telescopic tube lock (7) again.
6.4 Connecting to the mains supply
•
Connect the power cable to a suitable ex-
tension cable. Make sure that the extension
cable is designed for the power rating of the
chainsaw.
•
Secure the extension cable as shown in Fig.
18 to protect it against pulling forces and ac-
cidental disconnection.
•
Connect the extension cable to a professio-
nally installed safety mains outlet with ground
contact. We recommend using a cable with
a bright and highly visible color, e.g. red or
yellow. This will reduce the risk of accidentally
damaging it with the chainsaw.
6.5 On/O
ff
switch
Switching on
•
Hold the chainsaw by the handles with both
hands (thumbs under the additional handle).
•
Press and hold the safety lock-off (Fig. 19/
Item 3).
•
To switch on the chainsaw, activate the ON/
OFF switch (Fig. 19/Item 2). You can then re-
lease the safety lock-off.
Switching o
ff
Release the ON/OFF switch (Fig. 19/Item 2).
Always disconnect the mains plug when you stop
working, even if it is only for a short time.
7. Working with the chainsaw
Preparations
To ensure that you can work safely, check the
following points before every use and in the event
of any damage:
Condition of the chainsaw
Inspect the chainsaw before the start of work for
damage to the housing, the power cable, the saw
chain and the cutter rail. Never use a chainsaw
which is obviously damaged.
- Danger of acci-
dent!
