4.4 Operator Interface
A. General Information
The operator interface displays messages that it
receives from the programmable controller. Figure
4.5 shows all of the messages which can be displayed.
The messages are arranged in six menus, each
consisting of a number of messages.
At any given time, some messages will be active and
others will be inactive, depending on the operating
status and configuration of the dryer. Two messages
are displayed on the operator interface at all times. If
more than two messages are active, then the
rightmost character of the top and/or bottom
message will contain a flashing arrow.
1)
If the offline tower pressure switch is open, the
program will not advance from step L03 (or R03)
to step L04 (or R04).
2)
If the offline tower pressure switch is closed, the
program will not advance from step L15 (or R15)
to step R00 (or L00).
3)
The F2 key is inoperative if AUTOMATIC advance is
selected (see Menu 3) or if Menu 6 is not dis-
played.
(b) The second message of this menu displays the current
step number and the elapsed time since the start of that
step.
(c) The third message of this menu shows which tower is
drying and the elapsed time since the start of the current
drying cycle.
(7) Menu #7 - For dyers with the optional dew point
monitor. This menu displays the set point for the
high outlet dew point alarm (Alarms L8 and R8) and
allows user to adjust alarm set point. Set point range
is -130
°
F to +50
°
F (-90
°
C to +10
°
C). If user enters a
value outside this range, it will automatically be
adjusted to the maximum or minimum allowable.
Factory setting is -4
°
F (-20
°
C).
To change alarm set point, first display Menu #7 and
use the up /down arrow keys to place blinking cursor
(located on the left side of screen) on the line display-
ing
°
F or
°
C. Press enter key and the cursor will move
to field containing set point. Use up / down arrow
keys to adjust set point to desired value. Press enter
key to accept new set point. NOTE: When one value
(
°

updated.

B. Function Keys
There are nine keys on the operator interface. The use of
each key is described below.
(1) The F1 key is the alarm reset. It can be pressed at any
time to reset an alarm, as long as the fault condition has
been corrected.
(2) The F2 key is used to manually advance the dryer
through its operating cycle. The F2 key is only active
when the diagnostic menu (Menu #6) is displayed.
(3) The F3 key changes the display from one menu to the
next. This key is active at all times.
(4) The F4 key performs three different functions, as
described in Menu #’s 3, 4, and 5. The F4 key is only
active when one of these menus is displayed.
(5) Use the UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW (triangular) keys to
scroll through the messages of the selected menu.
(6) The SHIFT, ESC, and ENTER keys are not used.
