Example of a pump installation in a drain, see fig. 2.
Note the minimum installation dimensions, as indicated in fig. 2.

Finding the cause of the problem
Faults:
The pump switches off due to overheating. (Thermal motor switch)
Causes:
Water level too low. Suctioning parts clogged -Debris in the pump - Rotor stuck. Temperature
of the liquid to be pumped is too high, may not exceed +35 °C during continuous
operation.
Eliminating the problem:
Submerse pump deeper. Check and clean. Reduce temperature of liquid. Wait for motor
to cool down (motor switch) up to approx. 25 min.
Faults:
Pump runs, but no suction.
Causes:
Water level below minimum suction level. When submersing the pump or during
automatic operation, it is possible for air bubbles to form in the pump due to an
unsuitable positioning of the floater switch. This happens if the pump does not stop at
the minimum water level, but sucks air. Suction filter clogged. Outlet pipe clogged.
Eliminating the problem:
Switch off pump. Let out the air by tilting the pump and then submerge it in the water
again. Remove debris. Clean pipe. Re-position and clean the pipe.
