Remove any existing line protruding from either
eyelets in the spool assembly.

Cut a length of 2.0mm diameter nylon line to a
length of 2.5m, ensuring the line is cut cleanly. If the
first 150mm of line is curved, try and straighten the
line as much as possible for entry into the spool.
4) Insert 1.25m of line into one of the holes in the
upper section of the spool and wind the line in the
direction of the arrows on the top of the spool. Leave
approximately 1.25m of line unwound and place
into cleat. Repeat on lower section of spool.

Pull the line through the spool so both lengths of
line extending from each eyelet are the same length.

6) Care should be taken to ensure that the line is
neatly coiled on the spool. Failure to do so will impair
the efficiency.

Rotate the bump knob (52) in a clockwise
direction; also the direction of the rotation arrow
on the bump knob (52). As the bump knob (52) is
rotated, the line will evenly be drawn into the spool
and evenly wind the line in place. Continue to wind
the line into the spool until approx. 100mm of line
extends out from the eyelets. (Fig. O6)
NOTE:
Slight downward pressure on the spool will assist in the rotating
action.

The spool and line is now ready for use. If the spool and line assembly was
removed from the lower shaft for this process, ensure it is correctly fitted as
per previous instructions.
Replacing the saw chain
Replace the saw chain (25) when cutters are too worn to sharpen or when
the saw chain stops. Only use replacement saw chain noted in this manual.
