9. Make two marks on the center of each stud in line with your previous four marks,
making a total of eight marks.
10. Use the stud finder to find the center of the studs.
a. Mark the left edge of the stud.
b. Mark the right edge of the stud.
c. Draw an X to mark the center of the stud.
This is called the stud center method, which ensures that you will drill into the
strongest part of the stud, making your lifter kit much more secure.
WARNING
If your garage ceiling is textured, triple check the center marks you made to ensure that
you have found the center of each stud. Failure to secure the Smart Tracks to the center of
each stud could cause property damage, personal injury, or death.
