StartingEngine

 

 

WARNING:

Besurenooneotherthantheoperator 

isstandingnearthelawnmower whilestarting 
engineoroperatingmower.Neverrunengine 
indoorsorinenclosed,poorlyventilatedareas. 
Engineexhaustcontainscarbonmonoxide,an 
odorlessanddeadlygas.Keephands,feet,hairand 
looseclothingawayfromanymovingpartson 
engineandlawnmower.

 

Followthesetofinstructionspertainingtoyourunit.Referto 
enginemanualforhelpwith theengine.

 

GP140-B Engine: 

1. 

Whenstartingtheengineforthefirsttime,pushprimer

 

fivetimes.Forallfuturestarts,pushtheprimerthreetimes. 
Waitabouttwosecondsbetweeneachpush.SeeFigure

Standingbehindthemower,squeezethebladecontrol 
againstupperhandle.

 

3. 

Holdingthesetwohandlestogetherfirmly,grasprecoil 
starterhandleandpullropeoutwith arapid,continuous, 
fullarmstroke.SeeFigure5-1.Keeping afirmgriponthe 
starterhandle,lettheroperewindslowly.Repeatuntil 
enginecranks.Lettheroperewindeachtimeslowly.

 

 

IMPORTANT:

Donotallowtherecoilstartertosnapback 

againsttheropeguide.

 

Ifenginedoesnotstart,it maybenecessarytore-primethe 
engine.

 

StoppingEngine

 

 

1. 

Releasebladecontroltostoptheengineandblade.

 

 

WARNING:

Waitforthebladetostopcompletely 

beforeperforminganyworkonthemowerorto 
removethemulching baffle(ifequipped).

 

 

UsingYourLawnMower

 

 

Besurelawnisclearofstones,sticks,wire,orotherobjects 
whichcoulddamagelawnmowerorengine.Suchobjectscould 
beaccidentlythrownbythemowerinanydirectionandcause 
seriouspersonalinjurytotheoperatorandothers.

 

 

WARNING:

Theoperationofanylawnmowercan 

resultinforeignobjectsbeingthrownintotheeyes, 
whichcandamageyoureyesseverely.Alwayswear 
safetyglasseswhileoperatingthemower,orwhile 
performinganyadjustmentsorrepairsonit.

 

WARNING:

Ifyoustrikeaforeignobject,stopthe 

engine.Removewirefromthesparkplug, 
thoroughlyinspectmowerforanydamage,and 
repairdamagebeforerestartingandoperating. 
Extensivevibrationofmowerduringoperationisan 
indicationofdamage.Theunitshouldbepromptly
