6 - MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL
The software on board the unit is very complex and allows HiWarm operation to be fully controlled. For this reason, many
parameters and settings must be managed by the manufacturer in order to make sure the unit runs smoothly according to
the set flow temperatures. Reference is made to functions, on the following pages, which may only be available if certain
contacts or external connections are used and adequately connected. Information regarding the wiring can be found in the
wiring diagram attached to the unit documentation.
Ethernet GWeb with GWeb supervision software is
integrated in the HiWarm unit.
The WEB board allows the controller on board the unit to
connect with the RJ45 Ethernet network at 10 Mbps. The
operating system used is Linux 2.4.21.
It is installed directly on the serial port of the advanced
controller and a static or dynamic (DHCP) IP address is used.
GWeb supervision software allows for the following:
- viewing the unit status;
- viewing the active alarms and alarm history;
- recording data with 10 variables that can be set;
- downloading all the data records from a web browser or via FTP;
- editing the main parameters;
- in case of an alarm, sending an e-mail to 5 different recipients.
GWeb also allows for monitoring to be performed via the following protocols:
- with SNMP v1 & v2c protocol;
- with BACnet Ethernet or BACnet/IP protocol.
The parameters relative to SNMP and BACnet protocol management are set from the Administrator configuration pages, as
shown in the figure:

GWEB OPERATION
The current on board control functions are:
- control of the various operating parameters by means of
a keypad set-up on the electric panel;
- compressor activation/deactivation to maintain the
chiller inlet temperature set-point;
- management of various alarms:
t IJHIMPXQSFTTVSF
t BOUJGSFF[F
t øPXTXJUDI
t QVNQBMBSN
- pump management;
- displaying the operating parameters;
- heat exchanger anti-freeze protection;
- controlling the maximum number of compressor start-ups;
- serial output management (optional);
- interfacing via WEB with the Webgate option through a simple connection and any internet browser;
- summer/winter changeover and on/off control via potential-free contact or on board the unit;
- set points can be set on board the unit or via external analogue contacts only for 0-5V utility;
- electrical load management and automatic modulation of the unit to prevent exceeding any power limits.
