ATTENTION
Never perform hydraulic connection operations with open flames near or inside the unit.
ATTENTION
Make sure the intake pressure of the pump is always greater than 0.5 bar while the pump is
operating: this helps reduce the risk of cavitation.
Otherwise, the evaporator would be exposed to the risk of freezing since the anti-freeze thermostat would not be able to
perform its function and moreover, the countercurrent circulation would not be activated in the cooling mode, resulting in
additional risk of malfunction. This position does not enable consent by the water flow control device.
The dimensions and position of the water connections are provided in the dimensional tables and overview drawings.
It is mandatory to follow the requirements below when preparing to set up the water circuit for the evaporator and in any
case national or local Standards must be complied with (refer to the diagrams attached to this document).
Connect the
pipes to the chiller using flexible couplings to prevent the transmission of vibrations and compensate for thermal
expansion
. Refer to the technical data table for the type and dimensions of the hydraulic connections.
It is recommended to install the following components on the piping:
- temperature and pressure indicators for routine maintenance and inspections of the unit. Pressure control on the water
side allows the correct functionality of the expansion tank to be verified and any water leaks in the system to be detected
in advance;
- sumps on inlet and outlet piping for temperature detection, for a direct view of operating temperatures. They can also be
viewed on the display on board the unit (if pCO),
- shut-off valves (gate valves) to isolate the unit from the water circuit for maintenance purposes;
-
metal net filter (inlet pipe) with a mesh that does not exceed 1 mm, to protect the heat exchanger from slag or
impurities inside the pipes. This requirement is especially important for commissioning;
- air vent valves, placed on the higher parts of the water circuit to bleed the air. The internal pipes of the unit are fitted with
manual air vent valves to bleed the unit:
this operation is to be performed when the unit is disconnected from the
power supply
;
- a drain cock and where necessary, a drain tank, to empty the system for maintenance purposes or seasonal breaks;
- It is recommended to install a decoupling heat exchanger in process applications to prevent fouling in the heat exchangers,
which is likely to occur.
WARNING
The hydraulic circuit must be implemented in a way that guarantees a constant nominal flow
rate of water (+/- 15%) to the evaporator in every operating condition.
WARNING
It is extremely important that the water inlet corresponds with the connection marked with
the writing “Water Inlet”.
ATTENTION
Before starting is required to remove the fixing screws (a) of the compressor which have to
block the compressor during transport.
