Sealing the joints
For flush installation, seal the joints with silicone.
Requirement:
You must carry out a function test before
sealing any joints.
1.
Seal all around the gap using suitable, heat-resistant
silicone, e.g. Novasil® S70 or Ottoseal® S70.
Unsuitable silicone adhesive causes permanent dis-
coloration to natural stone worktops.
2.
Use the smoothing agent recommended by the
manufacturer to smooth the joint.
3.
Observe the usage instructions for the silicone ad-
hesive.
4.
Leave the silicone adhesive to dry for at least 24
hours.
The drying time depends on the ambient temperat-
ure.
5.
Do not operate the appliance until the silicone has
dried completely.
Connecting the appliance
Requirement:
The control knob is turned to the zero
setting.
1.
Use the control cable to connect the external re-
mote fan unit and the downdraft ventilation.

Ensure that the plug engages with a click.
2.
Make sure that the cable is inserted into the control
knob correctly.
3.
If necessary, plug the LAN cable for Home Connect
into a LAN socket.
4.
Plug the mains cable into a socket.
Window contact switch
The appliance has a connection for a window contact
switch. If a window contact switch is connected, the ap-
pliance's ventilation system only works with the window
