Cleaning the appliance
Clean the appliance after each use, once it has
cooled down. Remove spilled fluids immediately; don't
let any food rests burn on.
Keep the ventilation openings under the pan support
clean. The ventilation openings must not be covered.
Thoroughly dry the burners after cleaning. Only turn
on the appliance once all parts are dry. Damp burner
parts could cause problems with ignition or an
unstable flame.
When assembling the burner parts, pay attention to
their correct positions (latching lugs). All parts must
lie flat.
Clean the electrode
A dirty electrode can disrupt ignition or flame
monitoring.
If required, clean it with the brush included. The
electrode is sensitive. Clean it carefully. Do not twist
or damage it.
Do not switch on the cooktop while
cleaning it.
Burned-on grime
For stubborn, burned-on grime, you can order a grille
cleaner gel from your specialist shop or our customer
service (order number 463582). It is suitable for pan
supports, burner parts and the stainless steel
cooktop. Leave on overnight if necessary. Bear in
mind the notes on the cleaner.
Burner discoloration
After prolonged use, the brass burner parts go dark
due to natural oxidation. The color changes has no
impact on useful benefit. Proceed as follows to
remove such discoloration:
1
Prepare a solution out of equal parts white
vinegar with no more than 8 % acid (domestic
vinegar) and warm water.
2
Place the discolored burner parts in the solution
for 10 minutes at most. Remove stubborn stains
with a cloth or a sponge.
3
Then thoroughly rinse the burner parts with clear
water and dry them well before their next use.
9
CAUTION
Too high a concentration of solution or
excessively prolonged contact of the burner
parts with vinegar will damage the surface.
