Troubleshooting
You can often easily eliminate problems that may
occur on your own. Before calling customer service,
take into account the following information.
Malfunction Possible cause Solution

appears on the display. The deep
fryer doesn't heat up.
The child lock is activated. Turn off child lock.
Appliance turns off. Hyphens are blink-
ing on the display. Safety lock. Turn off appliance. Then you can turn it on
again as usual.
Display indicates error message
(e.g. F01, F02, etc.). Electronic malfunction Call Gaggenau customer service.

lights up on display. The deep fryer
doesn't heat up.
Overheating protection: no or too little
oil or fat in the deep frying basin. Turn off appliance and let it completely
cool down. Fill with oil or fat at least to the
minimum mark.
Overheating protection: the appliance
has been set to a frying temperature,
although the frying fat is still cold and
has not been melted on the fat melting
setting. Switch off the appliance and leave to cool
down fully. Select the fat melting setting

to melt the frying fat.
Appliance was turned on with heating
element folded out or not fully down. Turn off appliance and let it completely
cool down. Fold down heating element.
Overheating due to old fat or oil. Turn off appliance and let it completely
cool down. Replace deep frying fat or oil.
If the

symbol lights up after turning
the appliance back on, although the
appliance is completely cooled down,
notify the Gaggenau customer service.
The food is raw on the inside. Wrong temperature and deep frying
time. Lower temperature, increase deep frying
time.
The food doesn't turn crispy and brown
anymore. Old fat or oil. Use fresh fat or oil.
