Causes of Damage
Scratches on the ceramic
Rough pot and pan bases scratch the ceramic.
Salt, sugar or sand
Salt, sugar or sand scratch the ceramic. Do not use
the cooktop as a work surface or storage space.
Overheated pots or pans
Avoid cooking on the cooktop with an empty pan.
Hard and pointed objects
Damage can occur if hard or pointed objects fall on
the cooktop.
Food spills
Sugar or food containing sugar can damage the
ceramic. Remove spills immediately with a glass
scraper.
Foil and plastic
Aluminium foil and plastic containers melt on heated
hotplates. Oven protective foil is not suitable for your
cooktop.
Unsuitable cleaning agents
Iridiscent discoloration on the ceramic can be caused
by unsuitable cleaning agents or the bases of certain
pots or pans.
