● directive BGR 232 for power-operated windows, doors and shutters (German employer’s
liability insurance association)
● EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC (safety analysis and risk assessment)
● Fire prevention regulations, accident prevention regulations, standards, e.g., VDE 0100,
appropriate country-specific regulations.
6 Safety analysis
Advice on safe operation of window drives
Before a motor-driven door or window assembly is put into operation, a safety
analysis with risk assessment must be performed by the manufacturer or supplier

in compliance with directive 2006/42/EC. The analysis must be documented and
approved by signature on a corresponding form.
