Square spindle drive for window handles
Installation and operating instructions

Before operating the square-spindle drive, the following installation steps must be carried out:
1. Install square-spindle drive, cf. page 20.
2. Install and connect the opening drive according to its assembly instructions, then unhinge the drive.
3. Plug in and attach cable of square-spindle drive, cf. page 21
4. Connect and set the DIP switches, cf. page 24. Mind the cable length in relation to the max. current
consumption, cf. page 22.
5. Check the function of the square-spindle drive with the opening drive connected but unhinged,
proceed as follows:

Supply voltage in OPEN direction
:
square-spindle drive unlocks and switches off.
Opening drive runs in window opening direction.

Supply voltage in CLOSE direction
:
Opening drive runs in window closing direction and switches off. Afterwards the square-spindle drive
locks (the learning cycle may last up to 2 minutes).
Important:
The opening drive's correct running direction depends on its being mounted to the window
correctly.
6. Hinge the opening drive again (without disconnecting it from the square-spindle drive !)
7. Check the complete system, square-spindle drive and opening drive. For doing so, unlock and open
the window electrically, then close and lock it again (at least one opening and closing cycle, each).
If a control module USKM is used, observe the USKM instruction manual when checking the closing
sequence.

Maintenance and care
To ensure problem-free operation, you must perform the following work every 1000 opening
cycles, but at least once each year:
Check all screws for tight
fi
t and retighten where necessary.
Verify if the window sash
fi
ts correctly in the frame. Readjust the mounting bracket kit if
necessary.
Check all parts for damage and wear. Replace them where necessary.
Never use alkaline or acidic cleaning detergents. Do not immerse the machine in water.
Do not try to repair a defective drive by yourself. Never remove the housing or other
components. In case of signs of damage to the appliance contact the manufacturer.
Only spare parts from the manufacturer may be used.
