Has no or minimal overhangs 

The pictures below show the ideal and poor orientations for a particular part. 

 

In this first example, we have satisfied our criteria for a large face to sit on the build plate.  However, the entire 
upper flange is unsupported and will not print properly without support structure. 

 

In this orientation we’ve reduced the amount of the part that is unsupported in free air.  However we have a small 
face in contact with the build plate.
