BATTERY TEST
Users can now perform their own battery tests on their system to determine if systems are due for
servicing.
A full battery test should be run on your system at least every six months.
To run a battery test on your system –
1.
Charge your system thoroughly – 2 x overnight (or 3 hour
continuous) charges is recommended, 3 if the system has not been
used for >1 month. PDA has to be fully charged until battery level
is 100%
2.
Open Smartspeed, and then turn on all devices. Gates do not need
to be aligned with reflectors because the battery test will turn off
the photocell.
3.
Select “Tools” -> “Battery Test” from the menu. The photocell
should be off when the battery test screen pops up.
4.
A default battery test should last for at least 120 minutes. Please
do not alter the stop voltage(V) unless directed to by Fusion Sport.
5.
If you have more than 8 gates in your system, set the lights on and
light off durations to 10 and 5s respectively
6.
Tap “Start” to begin.
7.
Smartspeed will try to find all active devices and pop up a message
box to confirm the number of devices. If all active devices are
found, tap “Yes” to start the test, otherwise tap “No”.
8.
The “Text Mode” tab displays the battery voltage of the devices.
9.
The “Graph Mode” tab displays the battery value on graph. User
can check the changes of the device battery over a certain period
of time.
10.
NOTE –The “ID 0” unit is your handheld sleeve unit, and has a lower
voltage than your remote units.
WHEN DOES A BATTERY HAVE A PROBLEM?
The test will show a faulty battery –
1.
When the voltage drops below the defined stop voltage for 3 consecutive times.
2.
In “Graph Mode” – Sudden voltage drop and then a straight horizontal line after that.
3.
“Test Mode” – Stopping time displayed in the “Drop at” column.
