14. Remove Tube Mounts.
Remove the laser tube mounts from the panel. Note the orientation
of the tube relative to the holders. The glass coils should always be oriented to the
LEFT
when facing the back of the machine.
15. Remove UBolts.
Remove the mounting Ubolts from the rubber tube holders.
16. Remove Old Laser Tube.
Remove the tube from the rubber holders and carefully set it
aside for later disposal.
17. Place New Laser Tube.
Place the new tube into the rubber holders in the same orientation
as the old tube was in when it was removed (with the glass coils oriented to the
LEFT
when
facing the back of the machine).
18. ReAttach UBolts.
Attach the Ubolts to the rubber holders and place the tube back onto
the rear panel.
19. ReThread Hex Nuts.
CAREFULLY rethread the M5 hex nuts onto the Ubolt posts and
make snug (but not yet tight) with the rear panel.
20. ReAttach Water Tubes.
Carefully reattach the water tubes to the proper laser connection
bulkheads. Make sure that the water tube routing and locations match the original
configuration.
We have now switched the old laser tube for the new laser tube. The next, and more difficult, steps
will be to connect the new laser tube back to the power supply.
CONNECTING POWER TO TUBE STEPS
1. Prepare Wire.
Straighten the exposed wire on the red lead. Twist the wires together.
2. Place Silicone Tubing.
Slide one piece of silicone tubing onto the red lead.
