modular RAID controller with FBU option if selected)
One horizontal chassis slot is occupied by the OCP module.
HDDs/SSDs/PCIe-SSDs
The server can be equipped with up to 16x HDD/SSD modules or with up to 12x
PCIe SSD. Each SAS/SATA HDD / SAS/SATA SSD / PCIe SSD module can
accommodate with 2.5-inch format. The HDD/SSD/PCIe SSD module is
connected to the SAS/SATA backplane wirelessly. This allows HDD/SSD/PCIe
SSD modules to be plugged in or pulled out easily.
To control SAS/SATA HDDs or SAS/SATA SSDs, an additional RAID controller
must be installed. Direct support to control PCIe SSD modules via onboard CPU
PCIe interface. Mixed configurations of SAS/SATA HDDs and SAS/SATA SSDs
within the same logical drive (RAID array) are not supported.
If the server has the corresponding RAID configuration, SAS/SATA HDD/SSD
modules can also be replaced during operation.
SAS/SATA RAID controller
The server is available with the following SAS/SATA RAID controllers for
operating the internal SAS/SATA HDDs/SSDs:
– Modular Host Bus Adapter with "Integrated RAID" (IR). RAID levels 0 and 1
are supported for internal HDD configurations.
