vSpace software installation
Firmware Update
It is always recommended to use the latest available version of
fi
rmware on your FUTRO DC20-1
device. Each installation of vSpace includes the latest
fi
rmware, so no additional downloads
are necessary to complete this process. The
fi
rmware may be "pulled or pushed" to the
device by the vSpace software. Both methods are given below:
Pulling a new
fi
rmware version:

To pull a new
fi
rmware version, start the Device Setup screen.

In the
Update
tab, check the
Automatic Firmware Update
checkbox.
►
Click
Apply
or
Update Now
to initiate the
fi
rmware update process.
►
Follow the on-screen prompts, if necessary.
Pushing a new
fi
rmware version:
With vSpace 6, you can launch the NC Console application directly from the
Start
menu (
Start/All
Programs/NComputing vSpace/NC-Console
).

To push a new
fi
rmware version, use the NC Console application.
►
Once in the console navigate to Terminals - L-Series and locate the desired FUTRO DC20-1
device in the right-hand pane.
You can select multiple devices at the same time: Hold down the
SHIFT
or
CTRL
keys
while selecting devices and then apply the update to the group of devices at one time

Right-click this device, select Update Firmware and follow the onscreen prompts to initiate
the
fi
rmware update.
Once the
fi
rmware update is complete, the device automatically restarts.
Note that some older builds of
fi
rmware (prior to version 1.00.00) must be updated twice to
reach the latest version of
fi
rmware.

Repeat the
fi
rmware update process above until either the device reports
no newer
fi
rmware
found
, or the
fi
rmware version (found in the Device Information screen in the device
fi
rmware
or in the NC Console) matches that provided in the vSpace release notes for your version of
software.

To con
fi
rm the version of
fi
rmware on multiple devices, click the
Columns
button in the NC
Console and select
Firmware
.
This view will show the
fi
rmware version of the discovered L-series devices.
Please ensure that you have updated to the latest vSpace software and device firmware.
Many common issues can be resolved with a simple update.
Important!
Starting with version 6.1.3, registration for Fujitsu devices will be no longer necessary.
