Installing VERITAS Cluster Server
VERITAS Cluster Server should be installed as specified in its accompanying documentation.
3.8
ETERNUS VDS Hardware Provider Notes
ETERNUS VDS Hardware Provider is provided for the ETERNUS Disk storage systems.
The storage management tool for Windows Server® 2008 R2, Windows Server® 2008, or Win-
dows Server® 2003 R2 (Storage Manager for SANs) may be used for volume creation and host
affinity settings after installing ETERNUS VDS Hardware Provider.

Refer to the ETERNUS VDS Hardware Provider product manual for usage details.

Standard Multipath Drivers (msdsm) for Windows
Server® 2008 R2 or Windows Server® 2008 Notes
Various settings, such as the load balance policy and retry count, can be adjusted by using the
standard multipath drivers (msdsm) for Windows Server® 2008 R2 or Windows Server® 2008.
However the following settings should not be changed from their default values.

Fibre Channel Switch Notes

Check the "Server Support Matrix for FC-SWITCH" for which Fibre Channel switches are
supported by each server OS and ETERNUS Disk storage system model.

When a Fibre Channel switch is to be used between the server and ETERNUS Disk storage
system, follow the preparation-in-advance and Fibre Channel switch setup procedures given
in the "ETERNUS Disk storage systems Server Connection Guide (Fibre Channel) Fibre
Channel Switch Settings".
