Resetting the administrator password and
network settings
To reset the administrator password and NAS network settings, proceed as follows:

Press and hold the reset button on the NAS for a 3 seconds. A beep will be heard.
This will reset the following settings to their defaults:

System administration password:
admin
•
TCP/IP con
fi
guration: IP address is automatically obtained via DHCP
•
TCP/IP con
fi
guration: Jumbo Frame is deactivated
•
TCP/IP con
fi
guration: If port bundling is activated (only for models with two LAN ports),
the port bundling mode is reset to
Active backup (failure protection)
.
•
System port:
8080
(system repair port)
•
Security level: Low (all connections are allowed)
•
VLAN is deactivated

Advanced system reset (10 sec.): Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds.
Two beeps sound (after the third and tenth seconds). The NAS resets all system settings to
the factory settings, just like with the web-based system reset under
Control Panel

Reset to factory settings
, only the data is retained. Settings
previously made by you, such as users, user groups and network sharing folders are deleted.
After an advanced system reset, you can access old data again by creating the same
network sharing folders on the NAS. All data will then be accessible again.

Log in to the NAS with the default user name and password.
