Slots DIMM 1 through DIMM 4 are assigned to CPU1. Slots DIMM 5 through
DIMM 8 are assigned to CPU 2, i.e. they can only be fitted if CPU 2 is installed.
The following rules also apply:
●
The DIMM slots must be fitted one bank at a time. A memory bank
comprises two DIMM slots.
●
The two DIMM modules of one bank must have the same type (identical
capacity, identical clock rate, single ranked or dual ranked).
If only CPU 1 is installed:
–
Start with DIMM 1+2 followed by DIMM 3+4.
If CPU 1 and CPU 2 are installed:
–
Start with DIMM 1+2 followed by DIMM 5+6, then DIMM 3+4 followed by
DIMM 7+8.
