TELEPHONE LINES
Connect a telephone line to the internal modem
by plugging in to the RJ-11 jack on the rear
panel of your notebook. Be sure that the connec-
tor is aligned correctly and pressed in until it
clicks into place. (See Figure 1-10 on page 8.)
C A U T I O N
The internal modem is not intended for
use with Digital PBX systems. Do not
connect the internal modem to a digital
PBX as it may cause serious damage to
the internal modem or your entire note-
book. Consult your PBX manufacturer's
documentation for details. Some hotels
have Digital PBX systems. Be sure to find
out BEFORE you connect your modem.

EXTERNAL MONITOR
You may install an external monitor on the
External Monitor port on the rear panel of your
notebook. Make sure that the wide side of the
connector is up and attach it to the port by
pushing in until it is seated, Then tighten the
hold-down screw on each end of the connector.

THEFT PREVENTION LOCK
A physical security system lock can be installed
on the right side of your notebook. (See Figure
1-9 on page 7 for the location of the lock slot.)
Simply insert the key end of your security
system in the slot, rotate 90 degrees and lock.

ogy and standards, not all USB devices
and/or drivers are guaranteed to work.
MEDIACONNECT
The MediaConnect has been designed to
provide a compact, flexible means of adding
media functions to your notebook. It is very
important to check for lint and other debris
before using any of the connectors on the
MediaConnect. Even if the MediaConnect
Power Indicator LED is On,dirty contacts can
still affect operations.
USB DEVICES
Wh en installing a devi ce on the USB Port, be su re
that the con n ector is the ri ght size ,a l i gn ed ,a n d
f u lly seated . The USB port is on the rear panel of
your noteboo k . (See Fi g u re 1-10 on pa ge 8.)
