Memory extension

The notebook must be switched off when installing/removing the memory modules and
may not be in the Suspend mode.
So that the current data can be saved in the
Save to Disk
suspend mode, sufficient
memory space must be available on the hard disk (at least the size of the main memory
+ 2 Mbytes).
Install only memory expansions that satisfy the requirements and rules governing safety,
RFI and electromagnetic compatibility and relating to telecommunications terminal
equipment (see the chapter "
Important notes
").
Use only memory expansions which have been released for your notebook (32, 64, 128
Mbyte modules, SD RAM, JEDEC 144 pin SO DIMM, 3.3 V).
Use only memory expansions which have been released for your notebook.
Never use force when installing or removing memory modules.
Make sure that foreign objects do not fall into the memory module compartment.
The main memory of your notebook can be expanded to 32 - 256 Mbyte using up to two 32, 64, or
128 Mbyte memory modules. The notebook will not start without memory modules, as no fixed main
memory is installed.

Ê
Switch off the notebook.
Ê
Remove the battery.
Ê
Remove the power plug of the power
adapter from the power outlet.
Ê
Close the display of the notebook so that it
locks into place.
Ê
Disconnect all cables connected to the
notebook.
Ê
Place the notebook bottom-up on a flat
surface.
Ê
Remove the screw (1).
Ê
Lift the cover (2) and pull it in the direction
of the arrow (3) from the notebook.
