8.TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
PROBABLE CAUSE
・Hoist does not operate.
・Insufficient air pressure or volume.
・Motor has seized from lack of lubricant.
・Motor has internal damage.
・Control valve in not operating.
・Brake is not fully released.
・Hoist is overloaded.
・Hoist body is hot.
・Insufficient lubrication in air line.
・Brake is not fully released.
・Motor or reduction section is worn.
・Bearings improperly packed in reduction section.
・Hoist will not support
・Hoist is overloaded.

・Brake is out of adjustment.
・Valve lever (chain stopper) is not
in neutral position.
9.BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
Periodic adjustment is required to maintain
hoist brake performance. Adjust the brake
using the following procedure. Refer to
the illustration to identify the various
components and critical dimensions.
The brake is engaged by the brake spring.
To release the brake, the valve lever moves
along the brake cam, rotating the brake adjuster
to reduce the force on the brake shoes.
Set the brake adjuster to achieve a clearance
between the adjuster and brake cam of 0.5 1mm.

Measure the distance between the head of
the brake bolt and the brake shoe. Turn the brake
bolt nut to achieve a clearance of 27 30mm.

Replace the brake shoes if the brake is unable
to hold a suspended load. Do not overtighten
brake bolt nut as the spring may be permanently damaged.
