Cleaning the Machine
This section describes how to clean this machine.
If there is any dirt on the reflection plate or glass of the document scanning unit, it may
result in undesirable lines appearing on the scanned image.
Important
・
Do not use benzene, paint thinner, or any other volatile substances or spray insect repellent to clean
the machine. These chemicals may discolor, deform, or crack covers.
・
If the dirt is tough to remove, use a thoroughly wrung soft cloth moistened with water (and a small
amount of neutral detergent, if needed) to wipe it off, then rewipe with another clean dry cloth.
・ Do not use any cleaning agent other than water or a neutral detergent.
・
If any liquid remains, the machine may malfunction and the documents may be damaged.

Turn the power switch off.
Important
・
It may result in a shock hazard if you clean the
machine with the power turned on.

Open the document handler by raising the lever
at the right end.

Wipe the white reflection plate on the underside
of the document handler clean with a dry cloth.
CAUTION
Make sure to turn the power off before cleaning the machine. It may result in a
shock hazard if you clean the machine with the power turned on.
