6 Maintenance
The "analysette-22" device (models COMPACT, COMFORT
and ECONOMY) does not require any maintenance apart
from regular cleaning.
Prior to carrying out any maintenance work, switch off
measuring unit and disconnect the device from the
power supply!
6.1 Liquids suitable for suspension
As, during processing, the sample liquid might be in contact
with materials that are not resistant to chemicals, certain
organic substances and saturated inorganic salt solutions
may not be used. (Inside the unit, the sample liquid is in di-
rect contact with stainless steel, glass, Teflon, Viton (FPM
or FKM) and Perbunan). The standard connecting hoses
are made in PVC or polyethylene.
The only suspension liquid approved by FRITSCH for
use in the dispersing unit is water.
Do not use any other substances without first consulting
the manufacturer.
6.2 Readjustment of spatial filter
Caution:
Do not change the settings of the adjusting ring
(1) of the laser optics.
When working at the activated laser,
wear protective goggles!
The laser emitter (located to the left inside the housing and
not visible) is equipped with an optical system consisting of
several lenses. The lenses focus the beam onto an aper-
ture (25 µm). The aperture acts as an extremely stable spa-
tial filter and generate a quiet beam with Gaussian intensity
distribution. The diverging beam produced by the aperture
is focused by an adjusting lens onto the centre of the sen-
sor. The optical devices including aperture and adjusting
lens are mounted fixed positions to each other.
