8.1  Child Guard Feature

This menu option offers a safety feature preventing young children from operating
the mower. Choose 'Settings' by pressing the green button. Scroll to 'Child Guard,'
and press the green button to enter the menu. Scroll to 'On' and press the green
button for 'OK.' The display will change to 'Keys Locked.' The keys will not respond.

To Reverse Child Guard Option:
Press any key, and the display will show you a key sequence to press in order to
activate the mower. Scroll up and press 'C.'

To Cancel Child Guard Option:
Choose 'Settings,' scroll to 'Child Guard,' choose it, scroll to 'Off,' and 'OK' it.

Note: If there is a possibility young children will approach the mower at any time, it is highly
recommended you use this mode.

8.2  Drop Off Mechanism

Mowing blades will stop immediately when RL500’s front end is lifted during
operation.

8.3 Bumpers

The RL500’s bumpers will recognize a hard/solid obstacle higher than 6 inches (15
cm.). If the bumpers fail to respond, stop RL500 and contact Technical Support for
assistance (1-877-MOWBOTS).

8.4 Perimeter 

Wire

If the perimeter wire is not active or is cut, the RL500 will not operate in automatic
mode.

Caution:

Do not lift RL500 while operating!

8.5  Crossing the Perimeter Wire

Mowing blades and rear wheel drive will stop immediately if RL500 is forced outside
the perimeter wire.

8.6

In the Event of Perimeter Switch Power Loss

RL500 will not operate in main mode when the perimeter wire is cut or the perimeter
switch is OFF.

8.7

Emergency Shut Off

In the event that the mower does not respond to the ‘Stop’ button, removing the
battery pack will automatically stop the mower.

8.8

Lighting Conditions

Mow only during daylight hours or in adequate artificial lighting.

8.9

Mowing Steep Lawns

Do not mow on excessively steep slopes in either automatic or manual modes.
