Select regulator input from DC power jack. A 5-8VDC center positive
power supply must be used.
The DEMOQE board power connector is incorrectly labelled as 5-12VDC.
The maximum voltage is 8VDC.
Select regulator input from the Embedded Multilink circuitry,
which derives its power from the USB bus

J4 - Regulator Output Selection Jumper VOLT_EN
The regulator can output either a 2.1VDC or 3VDC voltage for the
DEMO9S08QE8. The VOLT_EN jumper J4 selects the voltage.

shows the regulator output selection details.
Select regulator output to be 2.1V.
Select regulator output to be 3V

J5 - VDD Source Selection Jumper VDD_SELECT
Select the regulator to supply microcontroller VDD. This is the default
setting.
