Li-on batteries are not subject to long-term storage and are intended for active regular
operation. From the moment of production their service life period is 2-3 years not depending
on operation rate.
If there is necessity to store unused batteries as intended for more than 1 month, they
have to be charged approximately up to 50%. Long storage in discharged state may cause
battery total failure.
Store
at tempe5°С... +20°С (pref5°С), out of direct sunlight.
Do not store batteries in the premises with high temperature or in the premises with high
humidity.
Do not store batteries with metallic objects such as clips, pins, etc.
Battery protection circuits have low own consumption, nevertheless, it is sufficient to
decrease the battery voltage up to 2.5
V. Thus, if battery is not used in a cycling mode, it should be
recharged periodically (approximately once in 6 months).
If during battery storage you notice its powerful heating, hissing of outgoing gas,
appearance of harsh white smoke, remove it promptly to a place safe for people. If one of
batteries spills electrolyte, avoid its contact with skin, air the room and utilize the battery.
Lithium contained in Li-ion batteries melts and boils under relatively low temperature. If
water gets inside, reaction with hydrogen evolution occurs. Correspondingly, such a battery is
potentially dangerously explosive on long uncontrolled storage and may cause environmental
damage.
For the avoidance of undesired effects used elements are subject to collection and
delivery to specialized receiving points. Moreover, they shall be packed in a way to avoid
electric contact with container or other battery. Pack leaking elements to localize the leakage.
When it happens, use protective means: gloves, protective glasses, appropriate working
cloths, respirator, and barrier plastic bags.
Do not throw Li-ion batteries to waste bins!
