The scheme above displayed represents the sea water flow (external circuit) which cools the various parts of
the marine engine.
The sequence is as following: the sea water cools the air that is feeded into the engine (1: intercooler); then
it cools power steering oil and the fuel feed circuit (2: double exchanger with pipes); then it cools the
internal cooling ciruit water (3: exchanger with plates), the exhaust gas (4: exhaust manifold) and then it
goes into the exhaust elbow (5) that goes from the stern drive into another elbow. The sea water is sucked
in by a positive-displacement pump with blades.
