Setup for SMS alarm message
3.2 PSTN modem
PSTN modem may only be used for conventional dial up (or dial back in case of alarm).
PSTN dial back in case of alarms
When an alarm is marked with "1: Dial" or "0: Dial" in the Alarm set up page and the alarm occurs/disappears
a PSTN dial back to "Primary phone no" is started. When connection is established the content of the "ID-
string" is transmitted to the receiving application. Hereafter the communication board will change to Modbus
RTU mode and communication can begin.
If the call doesn't succeed the communication controller will retry 10 times on the "Primary phone no" and
then switch to "Secondary phone no" for another 10 retries.
The following settings are required to make a PSTN dial back:
Primary phone no.:
Phone no. for host computer receiving alarm calls.
Secondary phone no.:
Phone no. to use, if primary phone no. is not responding (after having tried 10
times)
ID-string:
Enter Uniflo ID-no. to send to host computer
Send ID:
Must be marked.
3.3 GPRS
The GPRS option can be used to transfer log data as soon as they have been logged. It requires a GPRS
modem and an Internet connection with Flonidan GPRS gateway to receive data.
If more than one Uniflo is connected to the same GPRS modem, then it’s important that the Uniflo with
Modbus address 1-10 is updated with the number of slaves connected (under the tap “Miscellaneous”) and
the slaves has Modbus addresses in increasing order.
Transmission of logdata
When a logging in the intervallog occurs the unit sends the data via the GPRS network and the Internet to
the gateway, which receives and processes the data before saving them in a database.
If the transmission of data doesn’t succeed the first time a new attempt will be made after one minute, this
continues until the data has been delivered or a new logging has been made in which case the new data will
be transmitted.
To set up the communication controller for GPRS the following settings are needed.
