4.1 Set up
Uniflo with modem
Set up as described for "Communication board connected directly to GSM modem" or "Communication
board connected directly to PSTN modem" type. This will be the Modbus MASTER.
Uniflo's without modem
Set up as described for "Communication board connected via bus to GSM modem" or "Communication
board connected via bus to PSTN modem" type, this will be the Modbus SLAVE's.
When connecting Uniflo's together on a Bus it's important that all units have different "Modbus SLAVE
address". Typical the Master is given the "Modbus SLAVE address" "1-10", the first SLAVE is given the
"Modbus SLAVE address" "11-20", the second SLAVE is given the "Modbus SLAVE address" "21-30" and so
on.
"Modbus SLAVE address" is set under the "Miscellaneous" tab.
Notice:
Modbus SLAVE address" may only be changed when using optical head or Uniwire
, not by
modem
It's recommended that the MASTER is first connected, set up and tested. Hereafter connect, set up and test
one SLAVE unit at the time.

The following signals are transferred:
•
+5V
•
2*GND
•
TxD
•
RxD
The cable is of type LIYY 5x0,34mm
2
and it's always mounted on the GSM/PSTN modem.
