1.0 Introduction
The communication board enables one of the unique features of the Uniflo 1200: Adaptation to future
demands for communication protocols, bus systems etc.
Initially, the board includes the following functions:
Interface for PSTN modem, incl. dial back in case of alarm.
Interface for GSM modem, incl. dial back or text SMS in case of alarm.
Internal bus for parallel connection of more Uniflo 1200 to the same PSTN or GSM modem.
The Communication controller option board can be supplied in three ways:
0618600-000 Uniflo 1200 card, 230V
0618605-000 Uniflo 1200 card, Ex powersup.
Lithium battery. Reference to installation manual for Uniflo 1100 & 1200 for choice of battery.

Definitions
Technicians are qualified persons educated or trained to mount, operate, and also troubleshoot technically
correct and in accordance with safety regulations.
Limitations
This manual only applies to the following Product numbers: 061864X-YYY Uniflo 1200 card, comm.contr
and only for mounting in a Uniflo 1100 & Uniflo 1200.
If the Uniflo 1100 or 1200 has build in modem like 0618650-YYY the Uniflo need 0618600-000 Uniflo 1200
card, 230V
When mounted in Hazardous areas:
Powersupply Uniflo 1200: Use Ex power supply 0618605-000 Uniflo 1200 or Lithium battery.
Powersupply Uniflo 1100: Use only Lithium battery.

Limitations to its use.
First of all the Communication board has to be placed inside the Uniflo, in such a way, that there is at least
one option board distance to other option boards.
The jumper on
XJ1 has to be removed
.
The T, R and C ports are the only ports that can be used in a hazardous environment.
2.0 Mounting
Only technicians who are familiar with the technical terms, warnings, and instructions in the manual and who
are able to follow these should connect the module.

Mounting and connection of the module should comply with national legislation for mounting of electric
materials, i.a. wire cross-section, protective fuse, and location. Descriptions of input / output and supply
connections will follow in this paper.
When mounting the option board please also observe the guidelines in the paper "ESD correct handling".
1. Turn off the Uniflo power supply (both battery and external supply).
2. Mount the Communication output board with the supplied plastic circuit board support post.
3. Press the option board plug into the socket on the main board (typically position OPS7).
