2. Devices and functional description
Functional description
Primary circuit:
The shunt group is controlled in the return line on the primary side using the NexusValve Vivax
control valve. The maximum capacity is set by presetting the valve. The flow in the primary circuit
can be variably adjusted by the actuator as required.
A primary pressure of 30 kPa is required at the valve for the system to function reliably.
Secondary circuit:
The flow rate must be greater in the secondary circuit than in the primary circuit. A suitable pump
must be selected for the secondary circuit in dependence on flow rate and pressure loss.
The flow rate in the secondary circuit can be set using the NexusValve Vertex if presetting using the
pump is not possible. When setting the flow rate using the pump, the valve must be fully open
(setting 9.9).
In the case of unregulated pumps, the flow rate can be set with the aid of the diagram for the NV
Vertex. The diagram illustrates the drop in pressure across the Vertex valve for a specified preset and
flow rate (see chap. 5.2).

The shunt groups are supplied without a heating circuit pump. This will need to be fitted and
connected by the customer.
