Assembly
• Place a cap nut into the cupped end of the cap nut
assembly tool.
• Support the opposite (bottom) end of the rear door
hinge pin.
• Hold the cap nut against the end of the hinge pin and
tap the end of the cap nut assembly tool with a hammer
to secure the cap nut on the end of the hinge pin.
• Before beginning this assembly step, note that one side
of the chime unit has ribs in the center hole (see inset).
• Slide the end of the rear axle through the hole in the
vehicle body until the end of the axle is at the center
of the vehicle body.
• Fit a long spacer onto the end of the axle.
• Fit the chime assembly,
ribbed side first, onto the
rear axle.
• Fit another long spacer onto the rear axle.
• Continue to slide the rear axle through the vehicle body.

• Note the single tab on the rear axle. Slide a wheel, “hubcap”
side out, onto that end of the rear axle.
• Place a cap nut into the cupped end of the cap nut
assembly tool.
• Hold the cap nut against the end of the rear axle. Tap the
end of the cap nut assembly tool with a hammer to secure
the cap nut on the end of the rear axle.
Helpful Hint! You may want to position the end of the rear
axle on a scrap block of wood to protect the assembly surface.
