Troubleshooting the Fiery SI
PostScript error reporting can be turned on as a print option from Macintosh applica-
tions that use a PostScript Level 2 driver or by choosing the Printer Setup option
to PS error
.
Printer not found—TCP/IP or IPX networks
Most failures to find a printer on the network are due to conflicting or missing name or
address settings for the printer/server. You must enter particular names in certain
places. The required names are:
• TCP/IP host name or DNS name, which is defined by the MIS group in your
organization, and should be fewer than 10 characters long. In this manual we use
colorsvr
.
Enter the host name as the Server Name on the Fiery SI Control Panel and in the
NET_WSCK.INI file.
• Internal (machine) name in the form:
queue_devicename
TCP/IP printing protocols use this name to find the physical device. Use the device-
name part of this internal name in the NET_WSCK.INI file. You must enter the
names that are defined for your copier model; they are listed in Getting Started and
the User Guide.
