RUN Position With Engine Off
NOTE:
The following functions are with the driver’s foot OFF the Brake Pedal (Transmission in
PARK or NEUTRAL Position)
.
Starting With The Ignition In The OFF Mode:

Push the ENGINE START/STOP button once to change the ignition to the RUN
mode
.

Push the ENGINE START/STOP button a second time to return the ignition to the
OFF mode
.
NOTE:
If the ignition is left in the RUN (engine not running) mode and the transmission is in
PARK, the system will automatically time out after 30 minutes of inactivity and the ignition
will return to the OFF mode
.
In case the ignition does not change with the push of a button, the key fob may have a
low or dead battery
.
In this situation, a back up method can be used to operate the igni-
tion
.
Put the nose side (side opposite of the emergency key) of the key fob against the
ENGINE START/STOP button and push to operate the ignition
.

Children 12 years old and under should always ride buckled up in a vehicle with a
rear seat

If a child from 2 to 12 years old (not in a rear-facing child restraint) must ride in the
front passenger seat, move the seat as far back as possible and use the proper child
restraint (refer to “Child Restraints” in this section for further information)
.
