Error types of the CMGA
In principle, the CMGA distinguishes between two kinds of errors according to the following allocation:
Error type
Description
Effect on the
system
Reset
condition
Fatal error
Serious exception error through program run in the
CMGA. Cyclic program sequence is no longer possible
for safety related reasons. The last active process is
the operation of the 7-segment display by system A.
System B is in the Stop mode.
All outputs are
switched off!
Can be reset
by switching
the CMGA
(POR) off and
on.
Alarm
Functional error, caused by an external process. Both
systems continue to run cyclically and serve all re-
quests from the communication interfaces. Sensing
of the external process is also maintained.
All outputs are
switched off!
Reset possible
via

If an alarm or fatal error occurs more frequently, contact the company that installed the machine or
system.
All error codes of the CMGA basic module, including the one from the CMGA-E1, are shown in the dis-
play of the basic unit.
