10 OPERATION
10.1Instructions for Use
Before starting work, it is good to check the machine, and in particular:
check that all tubes and hoses (for air, abrasives, suction of dust) are properly
connected;
check that there are no leakages in the air circuit, and all the joints and connections,
etc.;
check the cleanliness of the vacuum manifold;
check the cleanliness of the filter;
ensure that the pressure is not higher than the operating range of the machine;
check that the lid / vacuum is securely attached to the sandblaster drum.
Precautions Before Starting Work
Operating pressure: 6.5 to 8.5 bar
Recommended pressure: 7 bar.
For thin steel and aluminium surfaces and other delicate parts, start working at a low
pressure and gradually increase the pressure until the desired finish is attained.
10.2How to use the sandblaster
To carry out proper sandblasting, perform the following steps:
1. Start the vacuum using the button on the sandblaster lid.
2. Hold the sandblasting gun with both hands, making sure the brushes are in position
touching the surface to be machined and press the trigger to discharge the sand.
3. Use a rotary movement on the surface to be machined, lightly pressing the brushes
against the surface.
Use of PPE
ALWAYS wear the Personal Protective Equipment envisaged, in particular gloves, and
goggles / shields.
Exposure to a jet of abrasive material and compressed air can cause serious injury to
the skin and eyes !
Use of PPE
Never point the sandblasting gun at your face or towards other people or animals. Not
even as a joke!
Always hold the gun-brush unit with both hands and point the gun toward the surface
to be blasted, before starting work.
