Charging system failure warnings
If the plug-in charge system malfunctions, a message on the instrument
panel will inform the user and suggest which checks and/or actions should
be carried out to resolve the problem.
Examples of these warnings are plug-in recharge not available, LVB 12V
recharge not available or next vehicle start not available, etc.
High voltage and 12V battery charging socket
The socket used to charge the high voltage battery and the 12V battery
by way of the special power lead supplied with the vehicle or the charging
station lead is located on the LH side of the vehicle. The socket can be
accessed by opening the external flap.
Opening the charge flap
The charge flap can only be opened in the following conditions:
●
the vehicle must be stationary;
●
the engine must be switched off (ENGINE STOP);
●
the instrument panel must be on;
●
the gearbox must be in the "P" (parking) position;
●
the parking brake (EPB) must be engaged.
To open the charge socket flap, press the button shown by the arrow on
the driver-side inner door panel: the flap will open automatically and
a pop-up will be displayed on the instrument panel with the message
"Charging flap open".
Before charging the batteries, wait for the message to appear.
Warning
If the conditions that allow the charge flap to be opened are not met
or the system that controls the opening of the charge flap is faulty,
pop-up messages specifically for each situation will be displayed on the
instrument panel.
To charge the vehicle batteries, see the "Battery charging" (see page 27)
chapter and the special manual included in the on-board documentation.
Closing the charge flap
To close the charge flap, push it until it clicks in place.
If the charge flap is left open, after charging, a pop-up message will appear
on the instrument panel prompting the driver to close it.
