Wheels on Vehicle Floor
Keeping the loading wheels on the vehicle floor,

continue pulling the cot out of the vehicle until the
front legs swing down and lock into place. You may
need to lift the cot a little to allow the front legs to
unfold completely and lock (Figure 23).
Confirm that the safety lock is engaged by pushing the

front legs against the vehicle bumper.
Do NOT pull
either control handle.
If the safety lock is engaged,
the front legs will not fold.
Roll the cot a foot or two away from the vehicle and

retract the loading-wheel assembly by grasping the
cross tube and firmly pushing on the assembly (Figure
24) until it locks in the retracted position.
Return to the operator end of the cot and roll the cot to

its destination.

Important
If the vehicle is parked on an uneven surface or incline,
the operator may need to lift the cot higher than
normal to allow the rear and front legs to lock.
