1.5 safety and instruction labels
Safety and instruction labels place important information from the users’ manual on the cot. Read and follow label instructions.
Replace worn or damaged labels immediately. New labels are available from EMSAR (in the U.S.A. and Canada, page 28) or
from your Ferno distributor (page 2). The following labels are affixed to the cot.

Identification and Load-Limit Label:
One of the labels shown
above is affixed to the operator end of the cot. The label identifies
the cot model and load limit.

The symbols defined in this section are used on the cot and/or in this users’ manual. Ferno uses symbols recognized by the
International Standards Organization (ISO), the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and the mortuary services industry.
Loading-end Leg Control
Handle,
affixed near the black
control handle at the loading end
of the cot. The handle unlocks
the loading-end leg for raising or
lowering the cot.
Loading-end Leg Control

control handle at the operator end
of the cot. The handle unlocks the
loading-end leg for loading the
cot into a vehicle.
Users’ Manual Label:
This label
reminds the operator to read the
users’ manual and tells how to
obtain additional manuals.
Operator-end Leg Control
Handle,
affixed near the red
control handle at the operator end
of the cot. The handle unlocks
the operator-end leg for raising
or lowering the cot.
