Move the sander over the surface of your workpiece.

Let loose the same on/off switch to stop the machine.
•
The on/off switch can be blocked in position “ON” by pushing the lock-on button (11) on the
side, while you keep pushing the on/off switch.
The machine can be stopped by briefly pushing the on/off switch again.
Prevent pushing too much on the machine during sanding. Excessive sanding
pressure does not lead to increased sanding capacity, but increases wear of the
machine and the sandpaper.
Grips
The sander is equipped with two grips: a handle at the front side and one on the back side.
Always hold the sander with both hands on the handles, so as to gain the best possible control
over your sanding operations. Besides you do not risk to become in touch with the moving
parts.
User tips
•
Apply long uniform movements to your sander to obtain the best possible results.
•
The surface quality after sanding is determined by the selected grain.
5. SERVICE & MAINTENANCE
Make sure that the machine is not live when carrying out maintenance work on the
motor.
The Ferax machines have been designed to operate over a long period of time with a minimum
of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper machine care and
regular cleaning.
Malfunction
Should the machine fail to function correctly, a number of possible causes and the appropriate
solutions are given below:
• The electromotor gets hot
• The dust is not extracted
• The abrasive paper is filled with
adhesive/paint or a similar material
• Clean the ventilating apertures
• The dust bag is full / empty the dust bag
• Paint or adhesive is not really dry.
• Some paints stick more to the abrasive
paper than others / clean the abrasive
paper at regular intervals

Cualquier aparato eléctrico o electrónico desechado y/o defectuoso tiene que
depositarse en los lugares apropiados para ello.
Disposiciones de seguridad específicas
•
La inhalación o el contacto con el polvo que suelta la máquina cuando está lijando (p.ej.
superficies tratadas con pintura con plomo, madera y metales) puede afectar la salud del
operario o de las personas a su alrededor. Use siempre equipo de protección personal
adecuado, p.ej. una mascarilla, y use la bolsa para recoger el polvo mientras está lijando.
•
Verifique que el interruptor no está en la posición “ON” (encendido) antes de conectar la
herramienta al voltaje de la red.
•
Mantenga siempre el cable de corriente alejado de las partes en movimiento de la
herramienta.
•
Cuando trabaje con la lijadora, sosténgala firmemente con ambas manos y adopte una
postura segura.
•
Use gafas de seguridad, especialmente cuando vaya a lijar una superficie sobre su
cabeza.
3. MONTAJE
Recolección del polvo

La lijadora ha sido equipada con una bolsa para recoger el polvo (3) a fin de mantener limpio el
lujar de trabajo. La bolsa para el polvo se instala en la parte posterior del aparato, en la
abertura. Es necesario vaciar la bolsa regularmente para asegurar un funcionamiento
eficiente.
Vaciado de la bolsa
•
Gire ligeramente la bolsa y retírela del adaptador de la máquina.
•
Vierta el contenido de la bolsa en un lugar adecuado.
•
Coloque la bolsa de nuevo en el adaptador de la máquina, empujándola hasta que quede
firme en su lugar.
Recuerde que el extractor de polvo sólo funciona si usa papel de lija perforado.
Sustitución de la hoja de papel de lija
Retire siempre el enchufe de la fuente de alimentación eléctrica antes de colocar la
hoja de papel de lija.
El papel de lija (7) se sujeta con Velcro para facilitar la sustitución:
•
Simplemente retire el papel de lija.
•
Presione la hoja nueva en el centro de la placa lijadora (8).
