Using the clamping device.
The figures showing the different clamping
devices, the saw-blade guide and the free hand
rest can be found at the end of the Instruction
Manual. The numbering of the operating ele-
ments in the following text relates to these fig-
ures.
Clamping the work piece.
Clamping device 9 07 02 001 00 1
For pipes with a diameter of up to 150 mm use
clamping device 9 07 02 001 00 1.
➤
Position the clamping chain (14) around
the work piece and insert the hooks of fish
plate (7) in the clamping chain (14).
➤
Tension the chain using gripping arm (6).
➤
Mount the hacksaw onto the supporting
bolt (20). (see “Mounting the clamping
device”)
The clamping head (19) can be adjusted to the
sawing cuts and can be pivoted.
Clamping device 9 07 02 004 00 6
For large pipes with a diameter of 150 mm to
325 mm use the clamping device
9 07 02 004 00 6 and saw blades with a length
of 500 mm or 600 mm and a thickness of 2 mm.
Using the chain extension, larger pipes can also
be machined with a diameter of 440 mm.
Saw-blade guide 9 06 06 002 00 9
For operations using a saw blade with a thick-
ness of 1.6 mm and a length of 530 mm use the
saw-blade guide 9 06 06 002 00 9.
➤
Fasten the saw-blade guide – without the
auxiliary handle mounted – to the drill hole
on the gear head of the pneumatic hack-
saw.
Clamping device 9 07 02 003 00 8
For machining profiled sections with a width of
290 mm and a height of 550 mm, use clamping
device 9 07 02 003 00 8. The design is equiva-
lent to that of a parallel vise. The clamping
jaws (10, 11) and the clamping head (19) are
adjustable.
Free hand rest 3 27 14 062 02 3
For sawing materials such as corrugated metal,
for example, use the free hand rest
3 27 14 062 02 3. Disconnect the auxiliary han-
dle and fasten the free hand rest to the stroke
mechanism and in the drill hole on the top of the
gear head.
Clamping device 9 07 02 005 00 0 (without figure)
For cutting pipes and round materials with an
external diameter of 80 mm to 400 mm, use the
clamping/feeding device 9 07 02 005 00 0 as a
guide for the hacksaw. By means of a slipping
coupling, the pressing-on time of the saw blade
is limited and thus the service life is longer. For
handling, see the Instruction Manual
3 41 00 898 06 6.
Mounting the clamping device.
➤
Insert the retaining bolts of the clamping
device into the cross hole on the underside
of the gear housing assembly.
➤
Fasten the clamping device by tightening
the locking pins securely.
General operating instructions.
Check that the pressure in the compressed-air
supply conforms with the pressure given on the
rating plate on the pneumatic hacksaw.
➤
Before connecting, blow through the
hose.
The hose should have a minimum diameter of
13 mm. The opening of the cock and the cou-
pling should be at least 8 mm.
Before commencing work, check that the oil
container is full (see Section, “Repair and Main-
tenance”). Fill the oil container as required, with
FEIN Special Motor Oil 3 21 32 017 05 0 (high-
grade hydraulic oil, type: HLP/ISO-VG:22). Do
not use any vehicle motor oils as they are not
suitable for pneumatic hacksaws.
