3) ASSEMBLING THE EQUIPMENT
3.1) ASSEMBLING THE SUPPORTING BRACKETS/LIGHTBAR
A slot can be seen on the underside of the lightbar along which the screws can be moved.
This enables the position of the supporting brackets to be adjusted.
Attach the plastic lightbar brackets («G» in Figure
1) to the lightbar using these screws, inserting them
through the two slots at each side of the plastic bar brack-
ets, as shown in Figure 2. Screw down using the M8
nuts («L» in Figure 1), M8 flat washers («M» in Figure
1) and M8 lock washers («N» in Figure 1). Given that
the vehicle roof will probably not be horizontal, the angle
can be corrected by shifting the bracket along these slots.
Do not tighten up the nuts as yet, so that the bracket can
be moved.
Position the two bracket bases («E» in Figure 1) where the lightbar is to be installed
(preferably in the centre of the roof, with one bracket at each side), centring the two bases on
both sides of the vehicle so that they are positioned at the same distance from the roof edge.
Ensure that the drill holes will not cause damage to any object inside the vehicle or interfere
with the reinforcement structure.
Measure the distance between the centres of the two bases and adjust the centres of the
two supporting brackets to this distance by shifting the brackets along the lightbar slots. When
this measurement has been corrected, lightly screw down (to allow for further adjustments) the
supporting brackets to the lightbar.
With the help of another person, position the lightbar and the roof connector on the vehicle
roof and place the lightbar on the bases.
Before marking the drill holes, ensure once again that the drill holes will not cause damage
to any object inside the vehicle or interfere with the reinforcement structure, re-adjusting the
distance between the supporting brackets if necessary.
The roof connector is positioned in front of the lightbar as shown in Figures 3.
When the installation areas for the roof connector and the bracket bases have been selected,
carefully remove the lightbar, ensuring that the bases and the connector do not shift position, and
mark the drill holes.
