Putting in place the infusion set
The infusion set is to be put in place as follows:
1)
Remove the adhesive tape.
2)
Remove the needle guard.
3)
Pinch the skin with one hand and insert the infusion set vertically.
4)
Press the adhesive to fix the infusion set on the skin.
Infusion sites
The images below show the recommended infusion sites.
The injection site should be changed after each infusion to avoid irritation.
Warning

Always work in aseptic conditions in order to minimise the risk of infection.
▪
Caution! Apomorphine will stain clothes and other items.
▪
Before selecting an infusion site, please consult the patient first to see which side he wants to carry the pump to.
▪
Oedematous areas, swollen tissue are not appropriate because absorption of the drug may not be effective.
▪
Avoid the upper arm in bedridden patients who need to turn frequently.
▪
Check the injection site regularly to make sure skin tissue does not have inflammatory or infectious reactions. If this occurs, a new
infusion set should be used with the needle positioned at least 3 cm from the site.
