6) Now switch the controller to automatic
mode by pressing the corresponding A/M
key (automatic = automatic light on).
Since there is no deviation up to this
moment (actual value = target value), the
hydraulic cylinders are not activated.
When the machine moves, the MLS 508
controller automatically maintains the
milling drum at the set level.
If deviations occur which are larger than the control window set in the configuration menu
(see “8.2.1 Control window settings”), the deviations are recognized as a fault. The message
“out of window above” or “out of window below” appears in the display, all valve lights of the
corresponding control loop flash and the hydraulic drive is switched off immediately.
With the UP/DOWN keys, the target value
for the milling drum’s level can also be
adjusted in automatic mode.
The MLS 508 controller automatically
moves the milling drum to the new setting,
displaying the corresponding valve light
“RAISE” or “LOWER”, and holds the milling
drum in that position.
If the control works too sluggish or is too unstable in automatic mode, the sensitivity settings
of the Sonic-Ski
®
sensor should be changed accordingly.
