OPERATIONAL WARNINGS & BEST PRACTICES
Fascination 700 Spray Tanning System
Fascination 700 Spray Applicator
HOW YOUR HVLP SPRAY SYSTEM OPERATES
• Before using the system, be sure the filter located on the bottom side of the unit is clean.
The system filter should be cleaned every 15-20 spray tans or as often as needed. (If it’s not
clean, follow the instructions under CLEANING & MAINTENANCE for the Spray Unit.)
• This unit has an overheat protection circuit.
Do not run unit more than 15 minutes at a
time. If the unit overheats, the motor will shut itself off
and will not restart until it cools
down. It takes about 30 minutes for the unit to cool down from an overheated temperature.
• The Fascination 700 applicator is a “bleeder” design, meaning air is continuously flowing
through the applicator even when its not in use. This reduces the heat buildup on the
turbine and prevents overheating when the system is idle.
Never let the applicator become
clogged or obstructed to the point where airflow is restricted.
•
Caution: Pressure may remain in the spray cup
even when the unit is turned off and/or
the applicator is disconnected. This may cause an unexpected stream of fluid to flow when
the trigger is pulled. Slightly loosen the spray cup to allow the pressure to escape (make
sure to re-tighten the cup).
• It is not necessary to empty and clean your spray gun following every spray tan application.
It is necessary to clean your applicator thoroughly after every work session.
Do not leave
solution in your applicator overnight. Remove the cup from the applicator and store it sealed
with the supplied screw cap according to the directions on the solution bottle.
• When using a fan pattern, always spray in a direction perpendicular to the pattern
• Always keep the spray gun in an upright position.
Your Fascination 700 Spray Tanning System has three components: the Fascination
700 HVLP Spray Unit, the Fascination 700 Spray Applicator, and a Fascination 700
HVLP System Hose. The turbine unit provides a continuous source of clean, warm, dry,
low-pressure air through the hose to the nozzle of the accompanying Fascination 700
Applicator. Atomization of the tanning solution is achieved when the air mixes with the
stream of fluid passing through the applicator nozzle. This low-pressure atomization
principle produces minimal overspray.
Your Fascination 700 Applicator has a horizontal and vertical spray pattern determined
by the position of two protrusions on the nozzle cap (#2) called “horns”. The horns have
openings that allow air to bypass the needle (#6) in a flattened oval shape, emerging from
the applicator in a spray pattern.
