12525 LINE SURGE SUPPRESSOR 

The 12525 is a data line Surge Suppressor and is required when networking from building to building 
using Category 5 wiring.  The 12525 Surge Suppressor comes mounted in a surface backbox and can be 
used with a 12523A or 12526A Network Interface Board for mounting. 

 

 

 

 

 

Notes: 
1.)   Units to be installed in accordance with all local 
 codes. 
2.)    T-Tapping is not allowed.  Communication wiring 
 

must be daisy chained from network interface board to    

        network interface board. 
3.)   Use Category 5 wire with 3000 feet maximum distance 
        from network interface module to network interface 
        module.

 

 

 
 

 
 

Step 1.)  Installation is to be done by qualified 
 

personnel who have thoroughly read and 

 

understood this instruction sheet. 

Step 2.)  Disconnect BATTERY and AC prior to 

working on equipment. 

Step 3.)  Mount 6-gang backbox as required (see 
 mounting 

below). 

Step 4.)  Attach conduit and run wires as required. 
Step 5.)  Attach unit to backbox, using four #6 x ½”
 screws. 
Step 6.)  Apply power to system. 
Step 7.)  Check for proper operation of functions.
